Silver Electroplating Solution - 1 Quart

A cyanide-type plating bath that imparts a bright silver plate.

Articles to be plated must be cleaner before plating. Extra care is necessary to insure the removal of all polishing rouges, oils, lacquers. greases, waxes, or fingerprints, etc. For best results, these items should be cleaned at 5 to 6 volts in a Krohn Tivaclean Solution (8 oz per gallon of water heated to 160°F to 180°F followed by a cold water rinse. Plate articles in a room temperature plating bath using 2 to 4 volts and either a pure silver anode. The plating time should be 30 seconds to 2 minutes, or until your desired coverage is obtained.

Thoroughly rinse the articles throughout water and then dry. Water is lost in a bath and may be replaced with some distilled water. Antique color effects may be obtained by adding Krohn Black Antique Smut (16 to 22 oz per gallon of plating solution.
